Limited Edition Found 7", in White Vinyl!
Just for fun, we asked some of our favorite bands and musicians to put some of our FOUND audio to good use. When we heard what they did, we were so happy with the results that we decided to print these beautiful limited-edition WHITE VINYL 7" records for all of us to enjoy. Four great tracks by Jon Langford, TRS-80, Claudine Coule, and the Victrolas!
"Act Like a Teenager" by TRS-80!!
Spoon Popkin might just have the greatest name in the world. She was also lucky enough to discover an incredible audio diary recorded in 1967 by a then-twelve-year-old Avon Minisure. She sent it over to FOUND and we loved it so much, we HAD to pass along the tape to our good friends TRS-80. We soon celebrated when we heard this gem.
"My Darling" by Claudine Coule!!
Ms. Coule was walking down the street in Stockwell, London, when she happened upon a broken answering machine lying in the road. Fortunately, she recovered the tape and carried it to Spain, where she made this music in her small home studio next to the veterinary surgery.
"Ingrid" by The Victrolas
Ann Arbor's Greg McIntosh sat down and flipped through a copy of FOUND's issue number one. Amongst the love letters and lost pet fliers is this playing card picked up by Sonny Turski. There's really nothing exceptional about the card other than the single word Sharpied on the face. So Greg got out his own pen and conjured this whole back story for this card-- here's the thoughts in his own words: "The whole idea that got me going on it was: 'Why would anyone write their name on the face of a card then throw it away?' Quite simply, I thought it must've been part of a magic trick. The card was disfigured, and therefore rendered useless by the magician, and Ingrid-the-person apparently had no interest holding onto a souvenir from a second-rate magician... or something."
"French Quarter Hotels" by Jon Langford
Finder John Miller writes "During a stay in the Place d'Armes hotel in New Orleans in 1999, I found the following note written on hotel stationery and folded in the room's bible. I have no idea how long it had been there, but I've kept it since then." Follow along as songwriting legend Jon Langford brings this tragic note to life.
